Improper use, mishandling and other factors related to the ever tighter timeframes in cargo or baggage handling lead to breakages or damage, sometimes not so visible (e.g. small cracks in extrusions or brackets or missing fasteners such as rivets) , for which the counter-effect is :

damage to aircraft hold liners and cargo loading systems,

delays in aircraft loading and unloading operations due to difficulties interfacing with cargo loading systems,

problems with ground operations.
