From the establishment in 1990 , as evolution of a a craft workshop specializing in the production of precision mechanic equipment for the professional cinematography sector (1980) ,all our efforts have been focused on the satisfaction of our customer needs, and in our history that’s the only aspect of our business that we have not modified: our customers are always at the centre of our attention.

In our facilities, located in the areas of the airports of Rome FCO and Milan MXP, we carry out the assembly and maintenance of containers, pallets, nets, galley inserts, as well as a wide range of services (in-house/outdoor) for a variety of needs requiring specialised personnel in the electromechanical or industrial mechanics sectors..

Jump in the Past

1980

Beginning

Mr. Giuseppe Chinelli (1927-2021) , a milestone in our history . From a craftsman’s workshop where he began to design and build machinery for industrial cinematography, his technical knowledge enabled him to build a machine dedicated to winding magnetic audio tape for aircraft on-board parameter and voice recorders. Hence the take-off. A tribute to a historical and unforgettable figure, always present wherever we go. An example to everyone who knew him. Thank you ‘Peppino’, we miss you!.

1990

First steps

Comet Elettromeccanica took its first steps in aircraft parts construction by producing parts at ATA 25 – 36 -53 specs

1997

First JAR 145 certification

Comet’s first workshop to be certified under JAR Part 145 , the first but important goal , an iconic “the way we were”

1998

New Ciampino HQ and workshop

Moving to the Ciampino workshop , a new plant of more than 6,000 sqm. A suitable site for ULD maintenance business development

1999

MXP Mercallo workshop

First Mercallo (Varese) plant , workshop opened to meet the needs related to the growing market generated by Malpensa Airport

2012

MXP 2nd Mercallo workshop

Second Mercallo workshop with improved environmental standards and new technologies

Ciampino Refrigerate Unit Department

Opening the new RUD , an innovative department completely dedicated to the refrigerate unit

MXP Cardano al Campo workshop

Opening the new MXP plant in Cardano al Campo , near to MXP airport with a more than 5,000 sqm area. A site under the sign of technological development

F GAS certification
